A glass of umeshu, a taste of nihonshu, some bites that speak Italian.
Around, voices that tell stories.
And a table that becomes the meeting point between two ancient cultures, the Japanese and the Italian, which harmonize among fermentations, ingredients, and stories, in a continuous reference between affinities and differences.
A guided tasting that compares flavors and gestures, accompanied by three traditional Japanese drinks and small tastings designed for the occasion.
The evening will be enriched by a koto concert, the traditional Japanese instrument similar to a harp. The musician Nanako Mori, a graduate in singing and ancient instruments from the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, will perform four pieces from the Japanese classical repertoire.
The deep and clear sounds of the koto will paint atmospheres, rhythms, and harmonies of the Rising Sun, offering an auditory and imaginative immersion that will accompany the new melodies of flavors born from the encounter between sake and Tuscan specialties.
Retrogusti returns with a new unmissable event of the format Stories in Tasting, to once again bring out its stories from the screen, transforming them into live experiences.
The inspiration comes from the article “Nihonshu, the soul of true Japanese sake between ancient rituals and new flavors” by Beniamino Peruzzi, dedicated precisely to the quintessential Japanese beverage.
