A cocktail of viewpoints, a creative group of passionate storytellers, a team of diverse professionals united by their passion for food and wine.

RETROGUSTI is an international project that was created to reveal hidden "Retrogusti" in food and wine, exploring lesser-known roots, values, and traditions through original and engaging storytelling.

Through the details and connections that enrich the bond with food and wine, RETROGUSTI brings to light the wonderful complexity of the food and wine culture, leveraging an online magazine and a network for organizing thematic events.

February 16, 2024. Retrogusti was born under the sign of Aquarius, the sign of creativity, originality, and a constant drive towards what is new. With a rebellious and independent spirit, Retrogusti also identifies with the most distinctive traits of those born in February, creating an original narrative of the world of food and wine.

The idea takes shape in the heart of Italy, Florence, during a mild evening with a slightly crisp late winter air in the Sant’Ambrogio area, a part of the city rich in history and daily life. Six musketeers around a table with a glass of Bolgheri Superiore in hand lay the foundations of a project that aims to reveal the hidden "Retrogusti," exploring their roots, values, and lesser-known traditions.

    Carbonara or Gricia, a Chianina and a bottle of Valpolicella… this is the meal of the places in my heart, but certainly not of my nutritionist! At Retrogusti, I am the Executive Director and founder and with the cry of “details are the key to success”, I manage the direction and coordinate this extraordinary team in a game of dynamic balances, aiming for the success of our fascinating project.

  • Filippo Lazzerini

    Florentine "sharp", I have always ridden the "contradiction" in my multiple passions made of music, cinema, travel, and, of course, wine. As co-founder, Events Director and writer, I experience Retrogusti as one of the most important challenges of my life: telling stories with words and inspiring with energy.

  • Angelo Loreto

    Born in Campania, I live in Puglia. As a child, essays at school earned me the highest grades; as an adult, journalism became my path. Writing finds its counterpoint in the world of wine, understood as a distillation of history, culture, territory, and human passion. I am the Editorial Director of Retrogusti and to those who ask me whether I prefer red or white, sea or mountain, meat or fish, I reply that every glass, place, and dish is a story that deserves to be told for its beauty, harmony, and uniqueness.

  • Francesca Concas

    Born in Sardinia, I choose Florence to study. I always have a bag and a ticket ready to travel: through places, words, art, craftsmanship, music, and taste. The Carignano del Sulcis and the Pabassinos have never stopped flowing through my veins. I am a Content Editor for Retrogusti and it's an exciting journey!

  • Ilaria Burgassi

    Turin native, Florentine at heart, and Milanese in habit, I like to win easily and I can't help but love the King of Italian reds, even in its chinato version. For Retrogusti I am the Head of Communication and, like all communicators, I am the one behind the scenes, a sort of hidden stylist who curates and conveys the image of Retrogusti to the outside world.

  • Marco Meini

    I am from Florence, straightforward like a Chianti but carefree like a Lambrusco. For my road trips, I often seek out small villages and the food of historic taverns. In Retrogusti, I take care of the visual aspect: photographs and videos are my tools for telling stories.

  • Filippo Piantini

    Purebred Florentine but always with the heart turned towards the Far East. You can find me eating with the same voracity both a Florentine steak with a Chianti, and a plate of soba accompanied by a Junmai Daiginjo sake. For Retrogusti, I am responsible for Digital Development (so yes, I'm “the website guy”).

  • Franco Peluso

    With the sun of Apulia in my heart, I am always in search of new food and wine experiences to live and new places where I can discover the traditions and the people who cultivate them. The organization of events allows me to connect with those who share my passions. In Retrogusti, I have the role of Partnership Manager to develop and manage collaborations useful to the project.

  • Diletta Regoli

    Senese origins and Salentine roots, my life is a blend between Chianti and Negroamaro. I live in Milan but I love spending time in the places I am fortunate to call home. Cooking, in all its forms, for me is a form of unconditional love, a language that is built as it is spoken. For Retrogusti I am the Relationship Manager.

  • Irene Chiarugi

    Pratese born under the sign of Aquarius like Retrogusti, I am attracted to what excites and astonishes, such as exciting and overwhelming stories. The flavors are the plot, the numbers the weave that punctuates my days. I am the Secretary and Treasurer of this talented association, responsible for administrative management.
