What happens when two protagonists of the Emilian gastronomic culture, the Carciofo Violetto di San Luca and the Pignoletto from the Bolognese hills, try to be together? An encounter full of contrasts is born, but also of promises. An impossible love, perhaps. Or perhaps not. Because, just like in the most intriguing stories, it knows how to surprise and win over those willing to go beyond appearances.
Retrogusti returns to Florence with a new appointment of the format “Stories in tasting”: an aperitif on the terrace to celebrate the arrival of the beautiful season, an evening dedicated to the exploration of contrasts, where the vegetal and slightly bitter taste of the artichoke will be the protagonist in every dish. To challenge it, with elegance and liveliness, the Pignoletto, a symbolic grape variety of the hills that embrace the city, with its floral and citrus notes.
The inspiration comes from the article “The Violet Artichoke and the Pignoletto: a story of a possible love” by Adriana Bianco, dedicated precisely to the unexpected bond between these two excellences of the Emilian territory.
